NewsBright Eyes pulls out of V Festival line-upBright Eyes has pulled out of his scheduled V Festival appearance this weekend (August 18 and 19) due to illness. The singer-songwriter - real name Conor Oberst - had been due to headline the Virgin Mobile Union stage at the Chelmsford leg of the V Festival on Saturday (August 18), and the Stafford leg on Sunday (August 19). Bright Eyes will be replaced by Mexican acoustic guitar duo Rodrigo y Gabriela, who will now headline the VMU stage on both legs of the festival. The band's shows in Bristol (August 15), Liverpool (16) and Nottingham (17) are also cancelled. Modest Mouse, Interpol set for Lollapalooza Modest Mouse, Interpol, CSS, MIA, TV On The Radio, Kings of Leon, Yeah Yeah Yeahs and LCD Soundsystem will perform at this year's Lollapalooza Festival, it was announced today (April 11). The festival is set to take place August 3-5 in Chicago's Grant Park. Also on board for the massive festival are Muse, Hot Chip, The View, Cold War Kids, Kanye West, Pearl Jam, Daft Punk, Iggy & the Stooges, Snow Patrol, Patti Smith, Spoon, Amy Winehouse, Clap Your Hands Say Yeah, Yo La Tengo, The Hold Steady, !!! and Peter, Bjorn and John. Originally a travelling festival founded by Perry Farrell in 1991, Lollapalooza now stays put in Chicago. It also includes a Kidzapalooza component, which features performances geared toward youngsters. Children under age 10 are admitted free.
